Levi Sheptovitsky: Teacher and Lecturer

Levi Sheptovitsy: lutenists, guitarist, musicologist and teacher "At Bar-Ilan University, Levi successfully directed our Collegium Musicum-the group for performance of early music. He himself plays several early instruments of the Medieval and Renaissance periods--besides the lute, instruments such as the cittern, guitar, crumhorn, recorder, etc. In addition, Levi has taught some courses at Bar-Ilan, including The History of Musical Instruments and Music Theory, Notation, and Performance Practice from the Ancient Greeks to the Beginning of the Seventeenth Century. The latter course was for graduate students and was a great success. The class of some 25 students stated that the course should be required of all graduate students. This success points to Levi’s high teaching ability as well as his solid knowledge of his field. I believe that Levi is a brilliant scholar, and I have great confidence in his ability and professional future in musicology."
